AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF
SECTION 9 AND THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 10, IN TOWN-
SHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN,
IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record and
electors residing on the land hereinafter described has been filed with the
City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath that all of
the owners of record and electors residing on such lands have joined in
such petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows,
to-wit:
That part of the Northeast quarter of Section 9 and that part of
the Northwest quarter of Section 10, all in Township 41 North,
Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as
follows: Beginning at the Southwest cornier of Andresen Bros.
Eagle Heights, Unit No. 3, being a subdivision of part of the
Northeast quarter of Section 9 and part of the Northwest quarter
of Section 10, Township and Range aforesaid, according to the
plat thereof recorded in the Recorder's Office of Kane County,
Illinois, as Document No. 982415; thence Easterly, along the
Southerly line of said Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 3,
a distance of 1114. 95 feet to the Southeast corner thereof, being
also a point on the Northwesterly line of Lot 3, in Block 12 of
Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 2, being a subdivision
of part of Section 10, Township and Range aforesaid, according
to the plat thereof recorded in the Recorder's Office of Kane
County, Illinois, as Document No. 945056; thence Southwesterly,
along the Northwesterly line of said Lot 3, and along the North-
westerly line of Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Block 12 of
said Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 2, a distance of
479. 95 feet to an angle in the Northwesterly line of said Lot 10;
thence Southwesterly, along the Northwesterly line of said Lot 10
and along the Northwesterly line of Lot 11 in Block 12 of said
Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 2, and along the North-
westerly line of Lots 12 and 13 in Block 12 of Andresen Bros.
Eagle Heights Unit No. 4, being a subdivision of part of the
Southeast quarter of Section 9 and. part of the West half of
Section 10, Township and Range aforesaid according to the
plat thereof recorded in. the Recorder's Office of Kane County,
Illinois, as Document No. 986731, a distance of 283. 0 feet
to an angle in the Westerly line of said Lot 13; thence Southerly
along the Westerly line of said Lot 13, and along the Westerly
line of Lots 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 in Block 1.2 of
said Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 4, a distance of
606. 06 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 20; thence
Southerly, along the Westerly line of Lot 21 5n Block 12 of
said Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 4, a distance
of 94. 0 feet to the Southwest corner thereof; thence Southerly
along the Westerly line of Lots 22 and 23 in Block 12 of
Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights, Unit No. 4, the Westerly line
of Lot 23 extended Southerly, and along the Westerly line of
Lot 9 in Block 11 of said Andresen Bros. Eagle Heights,
Unit No. 4, a distance of 335. 5 feet to the Southwest corner
of said Lot 9; thence Westerly, at right angles to the last
described course, a distance of 204. 0 feet; thence Northerly,
at right angles to the last described course, a distance of
168. 50 feet; thence Northerly, along a curve to the right
having a radius of 1922. 48 feet (the chord of said curve forms
an angle of 3 degrees and 57 minutes to the right with the pro
longation of the last described course) a distance of 265. 07
feet; thence Northerly, tangent to the last described curve,
a distance of 17. 9 feet; thence Westerly, at right angles to
the last described course, a distance of 142. 0 feet; thence
Northerly, at right angles, to the last described course, a dis-
tance of 599. 70 feet; thence Northwesterly, along a line which
forms an angle of 65 degrees and 44 minutes to the left with
the prolongation of the last described course, a distance of
277. 13 feet; thence Southwesterly, along a line which forms an
angle of 49 degrees and 55 minutes to the left with the pro-
longation of the last described course, a distance of 84. 35 feet;
thence Northwesterly, along a line which forms an angle of
79 degrees and 30 minutes to the right with the prolongation of
the last described course, a distance of 174. 90 feet; thence
Northwesterly, along a line which forms an angle of 38 degrees
and 05 minutes and 30 seconds to the left with the prolongation
of the last described course, a distance of 210. 75 feet; thence
Southwesterly along a line which forms an angle of 47 degrees
and 30 minutes and 30 seconds to the left with the prolongation

of the last described course, a distance of 57. 55 feet; thence

grees and 38 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the
last described course, a distance of 151. 50 feet; thence
Northwesterly along a line which forms an angle of 48 degrees
and 18 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the last
described course, a distance of 149. 65 feet; thence North-
westerly, along a line which forms an angle of 39 degrees
and 21 minutes to the left with the prolongation of the last
described course, a distance of 129. 94 feet; thence North-.
easterly, along a line which forms an angle of 90 degrees
and 56 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the last
described course, a distance of 238. 44 feet; thence South,
easterly, at right angles to the last described course, a dis-
tance of 118. 65 feet; thence Northeasterly, at right angles,
to the last described course, a distance of 85. 0 feet; thence
Southeasterly, at right angles, to the last described course,
a distance of 324. 0 feet; thence Northeasterly at right angles
to the last described course, a distance of 170. 0 feet; thence
Northeasterly, along a line which forms an angle of 7 degrees
and 40 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the last
described course, a distance of 78. 13 feet to the place of
beginning. Being situated in the City of Elgin, Kane County,
Illinois.
being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality be,
and they are hereby, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they
are hereby, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries
'thereof the above-described territories.
Section 3. That said territories be, and they are hereby, included in
R-2 Single Family Residence District as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordi-
nance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois. ).
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with an
accurate map of said annexed territories, be filed with the Recorder of
Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.

Section 5 That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage as provided by flaw and shall be published in.
pamphlet form by authority of the City Cou,:ncil.
