HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-776 Ordinance No. S-776 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SADLER'S ADDITION TO ELGIN, IN THE TOWNSHIP OF ELGIN, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record of the territories hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk and no electors reside on said territories, and WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of any municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and contains therein a statement under oath that all the owners of record of all land within such territories have joined in such petition and that no electors reside thereon, and WHEREAS, such property is presently zoned for industrial and business uses as designated in "I District Industry" and "B-1 District Business" as set forth in the Zoning Ordinance of Kane County, Illinois, and the petition requests that such territories if annexed to the City of Elgin be zoned in a classification which will continue to permit the same or similar uses as presently permissable under Zoning Ordinance of Kane County, Illinois, and specifically that said property, if annexed to the City of Elgin, be zoned "M-1 Limited Manufacturing District" as designated in The Elgin Zoning Ordinance as amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territories and land as described as follows, to-wit: Lots 4 and 9 (except that part of Lot 9 conveyed to People of the State of Illinois by instrument dated May 24, 1952, and recorded July 29, 1952 in Book 5185, Page 469 as Document 703194) in Block XVI of Sadler's Addition to Elgin, in the Township of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, be and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin, Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City be, and they are hereby, en- larged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof the said described territories. r 434 December 17, 1964 VOLUME XXIX Section 2. That the territories hereinbefore described be, and they are hereby, included in the "M-1 Limited Manufacturing District" as set forth in The Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois) as amended. Section 3. That certified copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
