AN ORDINANCE
VACATING A PORTION OF ARMOUR AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET,
LOCATED AND PLATTED IN ELGIN HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF ELGIN, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a certain portion of Armour Avenue, a public street,
platted in Elgin Heights Addition to Elgin, abuts against the Northerly line
of U. S. Route 20 By-Pass (Federal Aid Route No. 6) and has never been
improved, maintained or used for street purposes, and
WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by the vacation of
the following described portion of said public street, to-wit:
That part of Armour Avenue as platted in Elgin Heights
Addition to the City of Elgin, described as follows: Be-
ginning at the intersection of the Northerly right of way
line of U. S. Route 20 By-Pass with the Southeasterly line
of Lot 5 in Block 5 of Elgin Heights Addition to Elgin; thence
Easterly along said Northerly right of way line 25. 9 feet
to a line parallel with and 66. 0 feet Easterly of (measured
at right angles thereto) the Easterly line of W right Avenue;
thence Northeasterly along said parallel line 72. 24 feet to
the Easterly line of Lot 4 in Block 5 of said Elgin Heights
Addition; thence Southwesterly along the Easterly line of
Lot 4 and the Southeasterly line of Lot 5 a distance of 86. 34
feet to the place of beginning. Being situated in the City of
Elgin, Cook County, Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the following described portion of Armour Avenue, a
public street, platted and located in Elgin Heights Addition to the City of Elgin,
Cook County, Illinois, to-wit:
That part of Armour Avenue as platted in Elgin Heights
Addition to the City of Elgin, described as follows: Be-
ginning at the intersection of the Northerly right of way
line of U. S. Route 20 By-Pass with the Southeasterly line
of Lot 5 in Block 5 of Elgin Heights Addition to Elgin; thence
Easterly along said Northerly right of way line 25. 9 feet
to a line parallel with and 66. 0 feet Easterly of (measured
at right angles thereto) the Easterly line of Wright Avenue;
thence Northeasterly along said parallel line 72. 24 feet to

the Easterly line of Lot 4 in Block 5 of said Elgin Heights
Addition; thence Southwesterly along the Easterly line of
Lot 4 and the Southeasterly line of Lot 5 a distance of 86. 34
feet to the place of beginning. Being situated in the City of
Elgin, Cook County, Illinois,
be and the same hereby is vacated for street purposes.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with a
plat of the portion of said public street vacated be filed with the Recorder
of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.

I, Myrtle E. Spiegler, do hereby certify that I am the City Clerk
of the City of Elgin, Counties of Kane and Cook, Illinois, and that as such
City Clerk I am the keeper and custodian of the files and records of said
City of Elgin and the Seal thereof.
I do further certify that the copy of Ordinance No. S-775, VACATING A
PORTION OF ARMOUR AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET, LOCATED AND PLATTED IN ELGIN
HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, attached hereto is a full, true and correct copy of said Ordinance
No. S-775, the original of which was signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk of said City and filed for record in my office on December 17,
1964.
I do further certify that said Ordinance No. S-775 was adopted by the
City Council of said Clty of Elgin at/adjourned meeting of said City Council
duly held on the 17th day of December, 1964; that at said adjourned meeting,
on motion duly made and seconded, that said Ordinance do pass, the roll of the
members of said City Council was called and the vote of each member present
on the question of the passage of said Ordinance was duly and separately taken
by yeas and nays and said vote recorded by me in the minutes of said meeting
of said City Council; that it appears from such record that the result of
said vote so taken was as follows:
Yeas: 5
Nays: None
that the number of affirmative votes so cast constitute at least three-fourths
of all of the members of said City Oouncil authorized by law to be elected for
said City Council. -
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Corporate
Seal of the City of Elgin this 18th day of December, 1964.
