On May 28, 1964, and again on October 22, 1964, the Council denied the request
for curb sidewalks on the east side of Hubbard Avenue from Lawrence Avenue to
High Street. Petitioners asked that the Council reconsider this action, as
they had not been notified in time to be present for the discussion of October
22nd. In this block, curb sidewalks would be more advantageous for some
property owners, and property line sidewalks for others. The Council concurred
on the City Manager's suggestion that he and Mr. Nelson meet with the property
owners at the location on November 14th, and then report back to the Council.
