HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-763 f Ordinance No. S-763 A N ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CRESCENT, MURRAY, VAN, CARR, WING, SHULER, MARGUERITE AND SUMMIT STREETS AND JOAN COURT AND LAWRENCE AND PRESTON AVENUES IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the follow- ing streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Crescent Street on the East side thereof adjacent to the property known as 55 Crescent Street. Lawrence Avenue on the North side thereof between Hamilton Avenue and Vincent Place. Lawrence Avenue on the North side thereof between Aldine Street and Melrose Avenue. Murray Street on the North side thereof between Com- monwealth Avenue and Mabel Street. Van Street on the South Side thereof from the East property line of 537 Van Street to Crescent Street. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the South side of Lawrence Avenue between Melrose Avenue and Aldine Street, in such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point three feet distance from the curb line of said Lawrence Avenue. Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon, and along, both sides of Joan t Court from Cookane Avenue to the cul-de-sac, in such a manner that the outer edges of said sidewalk shall lie at a point three feet distance from the curb line of said Joan Court. 41) Section 4. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of Carr Street along the lot known as 133 South Clifton Avenue, in such a manner that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point three feet distance from the curb line of said Carr Street. Section 5. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the West side of Marguerite Street between Adams Street and Morgan Street, in such a manner that the Easterly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point three feet distance from the curb line of said Marguerite Street. Section 6. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of Wing Street between Wing Park Boulevard and Mabel Street, in such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at'a point four feet distance from the curb line of said Wing Street. Section 7. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the South side of Shuler Street between Melrose Avenue and Aldine Street, in " such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a +� point four feet distance from the curb line of said Shuler Street. Section 8. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the South side of Wing Street between Alfred Street and Aldine Street, in such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point six feet distance from the curb line of said Wing Street. Section 9. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the North side of Summit Street along the lot known as 654 Summit Street, in such a manner that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point seven feet distance from the curb line of said Summit Street. Section 10. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the West side of Preston Avenue between Summit Street and Oakland Avenue, in such a manner that the Easterly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point nine feet distance from the curb line of said Preston Avenue. Section 11. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon, and along, the West side of Preston Avenue between Oakland Avenue and Grand Avenue, in such a manner that the Easterly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point eleven feet distance from the curb line of said Preston Avenue. Section 12. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict here- with be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 13. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
