HomeMy WebLinkAboutS-747 Ordinance No. S-747 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record residing on the land hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk, and no electors reside thereon, and WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath that all of the owners of record, of such lands, have joined in such petition and no electors reside thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit: Part of the Southwest quarter of Section 15, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Southwest quarter; thence Northerly along the East line of said Southwest quarter, a distance of 90. 9 feet to the North line of Erie Street extended; thence Westerly along the North line of Erie Street extended and long the North line of Erie Street, a distance of 969. 73 feet; thence Northerly parallel with the East line of said Southwest quarter, a distance of 1824. 23 feet to the center line of U. S. Route 20 (Larkin Avenue); thence Southwesterly along said center line, a distance of 386. 67 feet for the place of be., ginning; thence Southerly, parallel with the East line of said Southwest quarter, a distance of 538. 92 feet; thence Westerly parallel with the North line of Country Knolls, Unit No. 1 (being a subdivision of part of Sections 15 and 22, Township and Range aforesaid) extended Westerly, a distance of 225. 0 feet; thence Southerly parallel with the East line of the South- west quarter of said Section 15, a distance of 180. 0 feet; thence Westerly parallel with the North line of said Country Knolls, Unit No. 1, extended Westerly a distance of 363. 10 feet; thence Southerly parallel with the East line of said Southwest quarter, a distance of 532. 42 feet to a point, on said parallel line that is 1281. 05 feet Northerly of aline that is 680. 46 feet Southerly of and parallel with the North line of Section 22, Township and Range aforesaid; thence Westerly at right angles to the last de- scribed course, a distance of 336. 88 feet to a point on a line that is 369. 6 feet Easterly of and parallel with the West line of said Section 15; thence Northerly along said parallel line, a distance of 1027. 40 feet to the center line of U. S. Route 20 (Larkin Avenue); thence Northeasterly along said center line a distance of 951. 32 feet to the place of beginning. EXCEPTING THEREFROM that part of the Southwest quarter of Section 15, .Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the East line of the Southwest quarter of said Section 15 with the center line of Larkin Avenue (U. - S. Route 20); thence Southwesterly along said center line a distance of 1798. 39 feet for the place of beginning; thence Southeasterly at right angles to said center line a distance of 250. 0 feet; thence Southwesterly parallel with said center line a distance of 200. 0 feet; thence Northwesterly at right angles to the last described course a distance of 250. 0 feet to the center line of Larkin Avenue (U. S. Route 20); thence northeasterly along said center line a distance of 200. 0 feet to the place of beginning.. Being situated in. Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois. Containing 15. 548 Acres more or less. being contiguous to the City of. Elgin and not a part of any municipality be and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin. Section 2. . That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be and 4111) they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof the above described territories. Section 3. That said territories be and they are hereby included in R-2 Single Family Residence District as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois). Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
