AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SECTION 19, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH,
RANGE 9 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, HANOVER TOWN-
SHIP, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13, Illinois Revised Statutes for
1963, provides that any unincorporated territory containing sixty (60) acres
or less, which is wholly bounded by any municipality, may be annexed to
such municipality by the passage of an ordinance to that effect, and
WHEREAS, the territory and lands hereinafter described contain less
than sixty (60) acres in area, are not within the corporate limits of any muni-
cipality, and are wholly bounded by the existing corporate limits of the City
of Elgin, and
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the City Council it is to the
best interest of the general public that such territory and lands be annexed
to the City of Elgin, Illinois.
WHEREAS, the entire frontage of said property on a public streety
being U. S. Route 20y is zoned B-3 Commercial District under the Zoning u
Ordinance of Cook County, Illinois and the balance of said property is sur-
rounded by areas zoned for manufacturing and heavy commercial uses under
the.Elgin Zoning Ordinance,and it is the opinion of the City Council that said
property, as attached to the City of Elgin, should be zoned under the B-3
Service Business District, classification of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance, so
as to conform with the existing County zoning and surrounding City zoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory and lands described as follows, to-wit:
A part of Section 19, Township 41 North, Range 9 East
of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the East line of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 19 that is 396. 0 feet Southerly
of (measured along said East line) the North tine of
said Section 19; thence Southerly along said East line,
a distance of 949. 0 feet to the most Northerly corner
of Lot 6 of the County Clerk's.Subdivision of said Sec-
tion 19; thence Southeasterly along the Northwesterly
line of said Lot 6, a distance of 376. 0 feet to the cen-
ter line of a creek; thence Northeasterly along said
center line, a distance of 139. 81 feet; thence South-
westerly, parallel with the Northwesterly line of Lot

6 as aforesaid, a distance of 327. 07 feet to the
Northerly line of Villa Street (U. S. Route 20);
thence Northwesterly along said Northerly line,
a distance of 428. 7 feet to the Easterly line of
a private road (known as Ramona Avenue); thence
Northeasterly along said Easterly line, a distance
of 371. 0 feet to a point on a line that is 1238 feet
South of and parallel with the North line of. said
Section 19; thence Westerly along said parallel
line, a distance of 33. 0 feet to the center line of
the private road (known as Ramona Avenue-) as
aforesaid; thence Northeasterly along said center
line, a distance of 447. 22 feet to a point on a line
that is 792 feet South of and parallel with the
North line of said Section 19; thence Easterly
along said parallel line, a distance of 33. 0 feet
to the -Easterly line of the private road (known
as Ramona Avenue) as aforesaid; thence North-
easterly along said Easterly line, a distance of
399. 8 feet to a point on a line that is 396. 0 feet
-South of and parallel with the North line of said
Section 19; thence Easterly along said parallel
line, a distance of 652. 7 feet to the place of be-
ginning, in Cook. County, Illinois.
containing less than sixty.00) acres in area, not being within the corp-
orate limits of any municipality, and being wholly bounded by the exist-
ing corporate limits of the City of Elgin, Illinois, be and they are here-
by annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the above described territory and lands be and
they are hereby included within the corporate boundaries of the City of
Elgin.
Section 3. That said territories be and they are hereby included
in B-3 Service Business District as set forth in the •Elgin. Zoning Ordi-
nance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois. )
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with
an accurate map of said annexed territory be filed with the Recorder of
Deeds, of County, Illinois.

Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage as provided by.law. It shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
