S-675, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 21, 1961. WHEREAS, the City of Elgin, pursuant to Ordinance No. S-675, passed on July 21, 1961, entered into an agreement of purchase and sale with the United States Government, dated July 28, 1961, and WHEREAS, said Ordinance and the agreement executed pursuant thereto provided that the City of Elgin should sell and convey, for a named consideration, certain real estate in the City of Elgin to the United States Government to be used for the construction of a new post office facility, which real estate has been conveyed heretofore to the said United States government, and WHEREAS, said agreement provided that the City of Elgin would convey an additional 20-foot strip to the United States government, lying Northf"iy to the real estate hereinbefore conveyed, in consideration of the United States government conveying a perpetual easement for public roadway purposes to the City of Elgin over a certain tract of real estate being acquired by condemnation by the United States government Southerly of the property heretofore conveyed by the City of Elgin to the United States government, both tracts being fully described in said agreement, and WHEREAS, the United States government has requested that the City hereby make conveyance to it of said 20-foot strip as provided in Ordinance No. S-675, and has indicated it is prepared to convey to the City of Elgin the perpetual easement provided therein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Elgin be and they hereby are authorized, empowered, and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to execute a deed of conveyance to the United States of America from the City of Elgin of the following described real estate, to-wit.
