RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING A PLAT OF DEDICATION FOR A PUBLIC STREET
(Capital Street and Holmes Road)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that it hereby accepts a certain plat of dedication
for a public street prepared by C. T. Amelse, an Illinois Land
Surveyor, and dated April 10, 1997 for the property legally
described as follows :
That part of the Southeast Quarter of Section
31, Township 42 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, described as follows :
Commencing at the Northeast corner of said Southeast
Quarter of Section 31; thence Southerly along the
East line of said Southeast Quarter on a bearing
South 01 degrees 41 minutes 39 seconds West, 1257 . 59
feet; thence South 88 degrees 53 minutes 02 seconds
West, 60 . 02 feet to a point on the West Right of Way
line of Randall Road for a Point of Beginning;
thence continuing South 88 degrees 53 minutes 02
seconds West 507 . 98 feet; thence North 02 degrees 06
minutes 07 seconds East on a line 70 feet East of
and parallel with the West line of Capital Street
(wherein said Right of Way increases to 70 feet as
shown on the Plat of Dedication thereof filed for
record on June 27 , 1995 as Document No. 95K03470 in
Book 87 of Plats on page 47 ) , 345 . 41 feet to an
external corner of the East line of said Capital
Street; thence North 88 degrees 30 minutes 53
seconds West, 8 . 18 feet to an interior corner of
said East line; thence South 02 degrees 03 minutes
59 seconds West along the East line of said Capital
Street 425 . 90 feet thence North 88 degrees 53
minutes 02 seconds East, 516 . 50 feet to the West
Right of Way line of Randall Road; thence North
along said West line 01 degrees 41 minutes 10
seconds East, 40 . 05 feet, thence North 01 degrees 41
minutes 14 seconds East along said West line 40 . 05
feet to the Point of Beginning, in the Township of
Dundee, Kane County, Illinois .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is
hereby authorized and directed to cause said plat of
dedication to be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane
County, Illinois .

SUBJECT: Plat of Dedication Review
PURPOSE
Consideration of a Proposed Plat of Dedication, Dedicating
Portions of Capital Street and Holmes Road; Property Located at
1530 North Randall Road; by George and Irene Arsoniadis, as
Applicants and Owners (Petition 12-97 ) .
BACKGROUND
A petition has been filed by George and Irene Arsoniadis
requesting annexation and ORI Office Research Industrial District
zoning. The subject property is located on the west side of
Randa-Il Road at 1530 North Randall Road.
As elements of their development petition, the petitioners
propose to dedicate needed right of way for Capital Street and
Holmes Road, adjoining the subject property. The petitioners are
dedicating an approximate eight foot wide strip along the western
property line. This when combined with the right of way
previously dedicated by Sherman Health Care Systems, will form a
70 foot wide Capital Street right of way, adjoining the subject
property.
The petitioners are dedicating the entire 80 foot wide Holmes
Road right of way along the southern property line (see enclosed
plat of dedication) . -
UNRESOLVED ISSUES
None.
RECOMMENDATION --
Staff has found no technical problems related to the plat of
dedication.
