HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-294 Resolution No. 96-294 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FOR MAINTENANCE THE UNDERGROUND AND SURFACE IMPROVEMENTS IN PHASE 1 AND PHASE 2 OF OAKWOOD HILLS SUBDIVISION • BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin hereby accepts for maintenance certain underground improvements including all water main and sanitary sewer in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Oakwood Hills Subdivision. Helwig, City Manager SUBJECT: Final Acceptance of all Public Improvements in Oakwood Hills Subdivision PURPOSE The purpose of the memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with information to consider the acceptance of all public improvements in the Oakwood Hills - Phase 1 and Phase 2 Subdivision. BACKGROUND The developer of the Oakwood Hills Subdivision, Oakwood Hills Limited Partnership, has completed all surface improvements and underground utilities in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the subject subdivision and is requesting the City of Elgin to accept them for ownership and maintenance. Upon receipt of this request, the City's Public Works staff scheduled inspections to verify that all improvements were constructed in accordance to the approved subdivision engineering plans. These inspections are now complete and no outstanding deficiencies exist. Acceptance of this subdivision will add approximately 2,800 lineal feet of 8 inch diameter sanitary sewer, 1,250 lineal feet of 6 inch diameter water main, 700 lineal feet of 8 inch diameter water main, 1,000 lineal feet of 12 inch diameter water main, and 0. 36 miles of streets to the City maintained facilities . COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED Oakwood Hills Limited Partnership FINANCIAL IMPACT There is no direct immediate costs associated with this acceptance. However, maintenance and operating costs will increase over time and will be budgeted for as part of the annual budgeting process .
