RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING THE WATER MAIN AND SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
WITHIN THE STONEGATE OF CENTURY OAKS PHASE 1 SUBDIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin hereby accepts the water main
and sanitary sewer improvements within the Stonegate of
Century Oaks Phase 1 Subdivision.

SUBJECT: Acceptance of Public Water Main and Sanitary Sewer
at Stonegate of Century Oaks Phase 1 Subdivision
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and
members of the City Council with information to consider the
acceptance of the water main and sanitary sewer in the
subject subdivision.
BACKGROUND
The developer of the Stonegate of Century Oaks Phase 1
Subdivision, Philip J. Wencek Builders, Inc. , has completed
all improvements associated with the subdivision and is
requesting the City of Elgin accept the water main and
sanitary sewer for ownership and maintenance. Because this
development is a P.U.D. , all surface improvements and the
storm sewer will be maintained by a homeowners association.
Upon receipt of this request, the City's Public Works staff
scheduled inspections to verify that all improvements were
constructed in accordance to the approved subdivision
engineering phase. There inspections are now complete and no
outstanding deficiencies exist.
The acceptance of the subject public utilities will add
approximately 450 linear feet of 8 inch diameter water main
and 430 linear feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer to the City's
water and sanitary systems.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no direct immediate costs associated with this
acceptance. However, maintenance and operating costs will
increase over time and will be budgeted for as part of the
annual budget process .
LEGAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that City Council accept the water main and
sanitary sewer within the Stonegate of Century Oaks Phase 1
Subdivision and direct staff lto prepare the necessary
resolution.
