RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A REAL ESTATE SALES
CONTRACT WITH NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin acquired property and
improvements at 205 North Gifford Street with federal
Community Development Block Grant Funds; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Housing Services provides
valuable support for Elgin low and moderate income
neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, support of Neighborhood Housing Services is a
continuing public purpose of value of Elgin citizens; and
WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant regulations
allow for the disposition of property by sale, lease, or
donation; and
WHEREAS, by transferring the property at 205 N. Gifford
Street to Neighborhood Housing Services the City will be
providing Neighborhood Housing Services with flexibility in
the current or future target areas .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that Richard B. Helwig, City Manager,
and Dolonna Mecum, City Clerk, be and are hereby authorized
and directed to execute a real estate sales contract on behalf
of the City of Elgin with Neighborhood Housing Services for
the sale of 205 North Gifford Street, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
