Chicago Street) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that it hereby accepts a Grant of Easement for storm sewers from El Mesias United Methodist Church for the property legally described as follows : The Southeasterly 15 feet of Lot 21 in Lord' s Park Terrace, a part of Lot 16 of the County Clerk' s subdivision in the Southwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 9, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois . Helwig, City Manager SUBJECT: Sidewalk and Storm Sewer Easements at 840 East Chicago Street PURPOSE The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with information to consider acceptance of the subject easements . BACKGROUND In 1994, staff requested easements from El Mesias United Methodist Church on their new property at 840 East Chicago Street. The church has granted a 15 foot sidewalk easement along their southerly property line and a 15 foot storm sewer easement along their easterly property line. Easements are shown on the attached sketch. The sidewalk easement will allow the City to maintain the public sidewalk which originally had been installed on private property. The storm sewer easement will allow the City to extend storm sewer from Chicago Street to undeveloped areas north of the church and abutting Bode Road. COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED El Mesias United Methodist Church. FINANCIAL IMPACT The document recording fee of $ 20. 00 will be paid for by the City. LEGAL IMPACT ( None.
