HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-253 Resolution No. 94-253 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS FOR NEW LAW ENFORCEMENT FACILITY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin has determined that it is necessary and desirable to utilize a prequalification process to prequalify bidders for the bid packages on the City of Elgin's new law enforcement facility; and WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is a home rule municipality as defined in Article VII, Section 6a of the 1970 Constitution of Illinois; and WHEREAS, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and WHEREAS, the adoption and use of a prequalification process to prequalify bidders on the City of Elgin' s new law enforcement facility pertains to the government and affairs of the City of Elgin; and WHEREAS, the process of prequalifying bidders for public works projects is a process which has otherwise been approved under the Illinois Purchasing Act for projects involving state agencies . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the City Manager or his designee be and is hereby authorized and directed to implement and utilize a prequalification process to prequalify bidders for each of the bid packages of the City of Elgin' s new law enforcement facility. s/ George VanDeVoorde George VanDeVoorde, Mayor Presented: September 14, 1994 Adopted: September 14 , 1994 Vote: Yeas 6 Nays 1 Attest: s/ Dolonna Mecum Dolonna Mecum, City Clerk
