RESOLUTION
PLACING NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE ON FILE
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is considering adopting by
reference the National Electrical Code, 1990 Edition,
published by the National Fire Protection Association, as the
electrical code for the City of Elgin; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 24 , Section 1-3-2 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes, 1991, authorizes any municipality to adopt
by reference the provisions of any regulations or public
records provided that three copies of such regulations or
public records are filed with the City Clerk for a period of
thirty days prior to adoption of an ordinance which
incorporates such regulations or public records by reference .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that three copies of the National
Electrical Code, 1990 Edition, be and are hereby directed to
be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk for public
inspection and examination for a period of thirty days .
