HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-0715 Ronald Vegemast Engineering CV3—offtS AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR CONSULTING SERVICES THIS AMENDMENT NO. 1 to Agreement dated April 15, 1990 is made this day day of , 1993, by and between the City of Elgin E-911 Emergency Telephone System Board (Board) and Ronald Vegemast Engineering, Inc. , Interchange Tower, Suite 180, 600 South Highway 169, Minneapolis, MN 55426-1296 ("Consultant"). WHEREAS, The Board has requested that an additional task be performed by Consultant related to the implementation of the new computer automation system; and, WHEREAS, the Consultant has submitted a proposal to perform such tasks; NOW THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: 1 . The Consultant shall perform the task work described in Attachment A to this Amendment No. 1 . 2. The Board shall pay to the Consultant an amount not to exceed the amount listed in Attachment B to this Amendment No. 1 . 3. Isom, Sr. , Chairman, 4ll Board Typed Name and Title of Authorized Official Attachment A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DURING IMPLEMENTATION PHASE OF CITY OF ELGIN COMPUTER AUTOMATION SYSTEM Consultant shall provide continuing engineering services during the implementation phase of the City of Elgin computer automation system project. The services will be related to the computer aided dispatch system, the MDT subsystem, the AVL subsystem, and any law enforcement records management system to be implemented. The Consultant shall meet with the systems Contractor after contract execution and before implementation work is started. The purpose of this initial meeting with the Contractor is to review plans and approaches that will be followed by the Contractor and to gather installation scheduling information. It is usual that there are several technical questions and coordination issues to be resolved at this meeting. A written report shall be prepared by Consultant to document the events and possible decisions and modifications which must be coordinated with the City and with other agencies. After the initial meeting, the Consultant shall provide the following continuing engineering services: - Review and comment on installation drawings and documentation submitted by the Contractor. - Answer questions from the Contract Manager and the Contractor. - Negotiate and prepare change orders for the Contract Manager. - Comment on work in progress including the adherence to schedules by the Contractor to the Contract manager. - Provide guidance during the development of procedures for the acceptance testing of the system. - Observe acceptance testing and comment to the Contract Manager. The Consultant shall make a presentation followed by a letter report in one copy at the end of each of the inspection trips detailing the degree to which the system inspected meets the contractual requirements. Attachment B FIRM FIXED FEE FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DURING IMPLEMENTATION PHASE OF THE CITY OF ELGIN COMPUTER AUTOMATION SYSTEM The firm fixed fee for professional services during the implementation phase of the City of Elgin computer automation system will be $16,280.00. This fee was developed on the following basis: One and one-half days per month for the first three months of the implementation phase = 4.5 days. One half day per month for the eleven months after the first three months of the implementation phase = 5.5 days. One and one-half days per month for the last three months of the implementation phase = 4.5 days. One day per visit to the City of Elgin for each of four visits = 4.0 days. Total is 18.5 days = 148.0 hours Mr. Vegemast's current billing rate charged to all clients is $110.00 per hour. 148.0 hours at $110.00 per hour = $16,280.00
