BACKGROUND: Hemmens staff would like to submit an Artstour grant to the Il- linois Arts Council , requesting $1, 000 in fee support for four perfor- mances of "The Young Hunter" by the Lynda Martha Dance Company. The performances are part of the Performing Arts for Young People Series, and the contract for that event has been previously approved by coun- cil . A copy of the grant application is attached. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total cost for the production is $6 , 000, including market- ing and labor. The grant would provide $1, 000 towards this cost. RECOMMENDATION: The Hemmens staff recommends approval of the grant application to the Illinois Arts Council Artstour Program. Larry L. Ric City Manager .
