RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING A PLAT OF DEDICATION FOR
PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES
(Shales Parkway)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that it hereby accepts a certain plat of dedication
for public right of way purposes prepared by James G. Roth ,
an Illinois Land Surveyor, and dated November 1, 1989, for
public right of way purposes for the property legally
described as follows :
That part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 8,
Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, lying West of the Commonwealth
Edison Company right of way by deed dated
October 22 , 1927 and recorded in the Recorder' s
Office of Cook County, Illinois on November 9 , 1927
as Document 983676 and described as follows :
Commencing at a point 1176 . 97 feet from the
Southwest Corner of said Section 8; along the South
section line of said section at a bearing of N 87°
47 ' 04" E, to a point on the West line of aforesaid
Commonwealth Edison Company right of way easement;
thence North along West line of said easement 366 . 30
feet and a bearing of N 0° 05 ' 30" W to a point on
the South line of Rte. 58 right-of-way; thence West
along South line of said right-of-way 70 . 02 feet and
a bearing of S 88° 36 ' 00" W; thence South along the
West side of the proposed Shales Parkway
right-of-way 367 .29 feet and a bearing of S 0° 05 '
30" E to a point on the South section line of
Section 8 a distance of 70 . 05 feet and a bearing of
N 87° 47 ' 04" E to the point of commencement. All
being in Cook County, Illinois and containing 0 .59
acres, more or less .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is
hereby authorized and directed to cause said plat of
dedication to be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook
County, Illinois .
