RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that James J. Cook, City Manager, be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute.
an agreement on behalf of the City of Elgin with the Department of Mental Health and
Developmental Disabilities for fire fighting services at the Elgin Mental Health Center, a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Senate Resolution No. 1068
Offered by Senator John E. Friedland
WHEREAS, The City of Elgin has agreed to provide
additional fire protection services at no cost to the Elgin
Mental Health Center beginning July 1, 1988; and
WHEREAS, The City of Elgin has agreed to provide
emergency medical transportation (ambulance) response to the
Elgin Mental Health Center at no cost beginning July 1,
1988; and
WHEREAS, The City of Elgin and the State of Illinois are
interested in the economic development of the surplus state
lands in the City of Elgin to broaden the tax base out of -\
which these and other necessary municipal services are
provided; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE EIGHTY-FIFTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Department of
Central Management Services and the Department of Commerce
and Community Affairs are directed to work with the City of
Elgin and the Elgin Development Corporation to formulate a
comprehensive plan for development of the surplus state
lands in the City of Elgin upon such designation by the
Director of the Department of Mental Health and
Developmental Disabilities; and be it further
RESOLVED, That such plan shall be developed consistent
with sound economic principles in a manner which is
supported by the residents of Elgin and the community
immediately surrounding this location and compatible with
the continuing operation of the Elgin Mental Health Center.
