NATIONAL STREET STREETSCAPE, PHASE I
CHANGE ORDER NO.3
SCOPE. This Change Order No.3 covers an addition to the contract for
National Street, Phase I , with Alliance Contractors, Inc. , 1166
Lake Avenue, Woodstock, IL 60098
Item 1 . Total of twelve (12) Street Lights manufactured by
Sterner Lighting, Inc. , Wensted, Minnesota. Six of
these lights are to be installed as part of Phase I .
The other six are to be purchased with Phase I con-
tract. They will be installed in Phase II of National
Street Streetscape.
REASON FOR CHANGE
Item 1 . The contract was awarded on November 12, 1984. The
contractor was ready to start working shortly afterwards.
He was asked not to start due to the delay in the Clock
Tower Plaza project. During the last few months the
manufacturer' s price has gone up $325.00 per light. The
unit price for each light installed is $3,050. And the
cost for street light only without installation is
$2,585.00 each.
Both the contractor and the supplier suggested steel poles
instead of aluminum poles as called for in the specifica-
tions.
The steel poles are much heavier than aluminum poles. They
also need painting and other maintenance at regular inter-
vals. In the long run aluminum poles are more economical
even considering the increased cost.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT. The amount of the contract shall be
revised as follows:

Item 1 . Increased cost for twelve (12) $3,900.00
street lights @ $325.00 each
By reason of this Change Order No.3, the contract for National Street Street-
scape, Phase I shall be increased in the amount of Three Thousand and Nine
Hundred Dollars ($3,900.00) to a total of Ninetyeight Thousand Four Hundred
Sixty Four and 80/100 Dollars ($98,464.80) .
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS. All other contract provisions shall remain the
same.
