HISTORICAL DISTRICT SIGN LICENSE
For and in consideration of one dollar ($1.00), receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged, and other valuable consideration, Faith United Methodist Church of Elgin,
Illinois (hereafter Licensor) hereby grants to the City of Elgin (hereafter1Licensee) the
license, right and privilege to install and maintain an Historic District Sign (hereafter
sign) on Licensor's property located at 19 Center Street, Elgin, Illinois. This license is
granted for a period of 99 years subject to the following terms and conditions:
I. Licensee shall be fully responsible for installing and maintaining the sign in a
clean and sightly manner.
2. Licensee shall repair and replace the sign as necessary so that it is in good
repair.
3. The sign shall be generally located in the grassy area between Licensor's
premises and the property located at 256 East Chicago Street, Elgin, Illinois. The specific
location of the sign shall be as designated by Licensor.
4. Licensee shall use due care in installing and maintaining the sign and shall
promptly repair any damage to Licensor's property caused by Licensee, its agents or
employees in installing or maintaining the sign.
5. Licensee shall hold harmless and indemnify Licensor from any and all claims,
suits, damages or liability whatsoever as a result of the granting or existence of this
license, the existence or location of the sign or the negligent acts of omissions of
Licensee, its agents or employees in installing or maintaining the sign.
This grant shall be binding on the assigns or successors of Licensor and Licensee.
