ABANDONMENT OF SOUTH STREET, C.H. 75 Dept. of Tran loll :r) 0,11 THE KANE COUNTY HIGHWAY SYSTEM odmrmr d Ht y WHEREAS, it has been heretofore agreed between the City of Elgin and the County of Kane for the City of Elgin to assume maintenance responsibility for South Street (County Highway No. .75) ; WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Kane County Board that the public and economic interests of Kane County are best served by the abandonment of South Street, County Highway No. "75 from the Kane County Highway System, the Center Line of which is described as follows: • COUNTY HIGHWAY #75: South Street, beginning at the intersection of the south line of the NA of the NWS4 of Section 21, T41N, R8E of the 3rd PM with CH (Randall Road) thence easterly along the south line of the north one-half of the north one-half of Section 21, and the south line of the north one-half of the north one-half of Section 22 to the east line of Lyle (Pine) Street in Walter G. McIntosh & Co. 's Fox River Gardens, thence northerly along said east line of Lyle (Pine) Street to the intersection with the frontage road on the south side of U.S. 20 (0.98 miles) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said County Highway 75 be and is hereby abandoned from the Kane County Highway System and is given to the City of Elain, Illinois. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to transmit • two cerfified copies of this resolution to the District Office of the Department of Transportation, Division of Highways. PAScD`Sh�s. . lffi'/ day of May , 1979. • C1=rk, Cputs ' .$oard;- C; Chairman;County Boa'rd' Kane County,' 11i iA` _ Kane County, I11 ois J A J'�.:tfl:etf:t•t'. 1 r RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAINTENANCE OF SOUTH STREET, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the County of Kane has heretofore improved South Street, County Highway 75, from Randall Road easterly to Weld Road with Motor Fuel Tax Funds; and WHEREAS, the control of permits for driveways, utility installations, subdivision streets connecting onto this portion of South Street should more properly be the function of the City of Elgin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the maintenance responsibility of the aforesaid road shall be assumed by the City of Elgin and shall no longer be part of the County Highway system. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Clerk be, and he hereby is, directed to transmit two (2) certified copies of this resolution to the Department of Transportation through its Regional Transportation Engineer. • s/ Richard L . We also acknowledge receipt of the City of Elgin's April 12, 1979 resolution providing for future maintenance of the deleted County Highway. Department approval of these documents is not required, but are considered as evidence of the awareness of responsibilities on the part of the City. Attached is one original counterpart of the approved resolution along with the additional documents on which no action was taken. Very truly yours, H. W.
