AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER #1 TO CONTRACT WITH
ILLINOIS HYDRAULIC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that Change Order #1 to contract with Illinois Hydraulic Construction
Company dated June 1, 1979 be and is hereby approved, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Dear Mr. Sarro:
Having reviewed the proposal, received by the City of Elgin on
June 1, 1979, from Illinois Hydraulic Construction Company,
plus subsequent additions, we recommend that the new total of
$81,500 be added to the roofing contract as Change Order #1.
The following is a breakdown of costs:
Base Bid $69,000
Cedar Shingles in lieu of Asphalt $ 9,200
Marine Plywood Fascia in lieu of
Exterior Plywood $ 3,300
TOTAL $81,500
The base bid was approximately 12% above the original estimate.
This was basically the result of more substantial structural
framing required for the cupola, as well as increasing the scope
of the painting contract. '

Gentlemen:
A. Base Bid:
Having carefully examined this Proposal Form, the Bidding In-
structions, the General and Supplementary Conditions of the
Contract for Construction, the Drawings and Specifications as
well as the site of the work, the undersigned hereby proposes
to furnish complete all labor, material, necessary tools, ex-
pendable equipment, specified insurance, applicable taxes and
all utility and transportation services necessary to perform
and complete in a workmanlike manner, all the work required
in accordance with the Drawing and Specifications including
all Addenda thereto, if any, for the sum of:

B. Addenda:
Following is a list of all Addendum, if any, received from the
Architect prior to the submission of this Proposal and the
listing thereof shall acknowledge the inclusion of the infor-
mation contained therein in this Bid Proposal.

portions of the Contract Documents and offer the following

no substitutions will be considered or accepted after a con-
tract has been awarded.

ed glass in the exterior lite, in lieu of
Plate Glass - Add $4,896
D. Owners Right of Rejection:
In submitting this Bid , it is understood that the right is
reserved by the Owner to reject any or all bids. It is a-
greed that this Bid may not be withdrawn for a period of
sixty (60) days from the opening thereof.
E. Sequencing of Work:
Because of the need for work of different Contracts and por-
tions of Contracts to follow in a certain sequence the under-
signed agrees to do portions of work required when needed to
keep the progress of the total job in a natural pace toward
completion.
F. Agreement to Execute Contract:
If written notice of the acceptance of this Proposal, (Bid) is
mailed or delivered to the undersigned at the address given
below within 60,.days after the opening of the Bids, the under-
signed agrees that he .will execute and deliver the Contract
Agreement in accordance with the Bid as accepted, all written
five days after' the prescribed forms are presented to hime for
signature. ,
