AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER #1 TO CONTRACT WITH
BURNIDGE, CASSELL AND ASSOCIATES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that Change Order #1 to contract with Burridge, Cassell and Associates
dated March 21, 1979 be and is hereby approved, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Dear Leo:
Having reviewed the Owner-Architect Agreement, A.I.A. Document B141
dated March 21, 1979, it appears that we are entitled to additional
compensation above the contract amount for the work described below.
It appears that the time spent by Bruce Dahlquist in aiding the
City to acquire additional funding may be categorized as work be-
yond the basic services, Paragraph 1.7.22. The work has included
several meetings with Roger Dahlstrom and Pat Damler of Community
Development, as well as preparing submissions to the Department
of Conservation. This has required 121 hours to date, translating
to an additional fee of $375. Additional time may be required
which would be billed at $30/hr.
The interior estimate for the first floor of Old Main also appears
to be beyond the basic services of our contract, Paragraphs 1 .7 .2
and 1.7 .4 . The additional fee required for this estimate would be
as follows:
Burnidge, Cassell and Associates
(40 hr. @ $30/hr. ) $1,200
Klaucens and Associates-Mechanical Engi-
neers (40 hr. @ $35/hr. ) $1,500
TOTAL $2,700
This would be billed at an hourly rate with $2,700 as a not to ex-
ceed figure.
