HomeMy WebLinkAbout25-80 Resolution No. 25-80 RESOLUTION APPROVING ATHLETIC FACILITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT RECIPIENTS WHEREAS, the City's Athletic Facility Improvement Funding Program has been established to provide financial assistance to Elgin-based sports organizations; and WHEREAS, six grant applications were submitted for consideration in 2025 under the City's Athletic Facility Improvement Funding Program; and WHEREAS, said applications have been reviewed and recipients selected by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that grant assistance and funds be provided under the City's Athletic Facility Improvement Funding Program to the following six organizations in the amount of$150,000: ORGANIZATION AMOUNT Elgin National Little League • Replace existing foul poles on fields 3, 6, and 7 $9,096 • Construct new batting tunnel $3,625 • Replace existing batting tunnel netting $1,495 • Purchase new infield groomer drag carrier system $3,072 • Purchase power paint striper $2,323 Total $19,611 Elgin Classic Little League • Complete batting tunnel system $18,671 • Replace deteriorating equipment in electrical shed $8,500 Total $27,171 Elgin Babe Ruth, Inc. • Left field wall construction $23,958 Total $23,958 Elgin Youth Football and Cheer • Repairs to concession building $33,540 Total $33,540 Elgin BMX Riders Association • Electrical repairs to BMX buildings $14,413 Total $14,413 Elgin Men's Baseball • Upgrade electrical on fields $2,209 • Replace water pressure tank $755 • Install roof over restroom area $3,350 $24,993 • Purchase infield groomer Total $31,307 Total Grant Allocation: $150,000 • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the projects shall be in conformance with all applicable codes and ordinances. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that prior to receiving any grant funds organizations shall be required to enter into an agreement with the City of Elgin in a form as approved by the Corporation Counsel. s/David J.
