RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH TRANE U.S. INC. FOR
DEHUMIDIFICATION EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT AT THE LEO NELSON RIVERSIDE
WATER TREATMENT PLANT
(OMNIA Partners— Racine County Contract#3341)
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract Trane U.S. Inc. for
Dehumidification Equipment Replacement at the Leo Nelson Riverside Water Treatment Plant
(OMNIA Partners—Racine County Contract#3341); and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G. Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed
to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

CHANGE ORDER No. I
CONTRACT: Dehumidification Equipment Replacement at the Leo Nelson Riverside Water Treatment
Plant-(Omnia Partners- Racine County Contract#3341)
SCOPE: This change order will provide for the addition of new ductwork, additional air diffusers,
dampers, sensors and associated controller programming which will maximize the system's ability to
meet temperature, humidity, and pressure requirements within the pipe gallery areas. This change order
will allow the project to continue and will improve the overall operation of the equipment as well as the
working environment within the pipe gallery areas.
REASONS FOR CHANGE:
• The existing ductwork configuration within the plant does not allow for optimal operation
of the new dehumidification system
• Additional equipment will maximize the system's ability to meet temperature,humidity,
and pressure requirements within the pipe gallery areas
• The circumstances that necessitate the change in performance were not reasonably foresee-
able at the time the contract was signed.
• The change is germane to the original contract as signed.
• The change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and authorized by law.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT:
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $729,740.00

The original amount of the contract with Trane U.S. Inc. is $729,740.00. Change Order No. I will in-
crease the original contract amount by a total of$78,815.00, that sum representing ten percent (10.8%)
of the original contract amount.The new contract amount, inclusive of all change orders is$808,555.00.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
