RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE
PERMANENT PART TIME MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAN EMPLOYEE GROUP
SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION, LOCAL 73
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that Richard G. Kozal, City Manager, and Kimberly A. Dewis, City Clerk, be and are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an Amendment Agreement on behalf of the City of Elgin with
the Permanent Part Time Maintenance and Custodian Employee Group Service Employees Service
Employees International Union Local 73,a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
by reference.

AMENDMENT AGREEMENT
This Amendment Agreement is made and entered into as of the 13th day of
August , 2025, by and between the City of Elgin (hereinafter called the"City")and
the Permanent Part Time Maintenance and Custodian Employee Group Service Employees
International Union, Local 73 (hereinafter called the"Union").
WHEREAS,the City and Union have entered into a Collective Bargaining Agreement for
the period of January 1,2022,through December 31,2025(such Collective Bargaining Agreement
is hereinafter referred to as the("Subject Collective Bargaining Agreement");and
WHEREAS, the City has requested and the Union has agreed to amend the provisions of
Article IX, Section 1,of the Subject Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding wages.
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual undertakings herein, the
mutual undertakings set forth in the Subject Collective Bargaining Agreement,and other good and
valuable consideration,the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged,the City and
the Union hereby agree as follows:
1. Article IX, Section 1. Wages, of the Subject Collective Bargaining Agreement be and
is hereby amended by deleting the following text:
"The parties hereto agree to a reopener for wages effective January 1, 2025. Unless
otherwise mutually agreed by the parties, such reopener negotiations for 2025 shall be
solely restricted to wages as specifically applied to Article IX of this Agreement.";
and by substituting the following text therefore:
"Effective January 1,2025,the following hourly pay ranges shall become effective:
Permanent Part Time Custodian
Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5
Pay Grade 209
$15.01 $15.76 $16.55 $17.38 $18.25
Permanent Part Time Maintenance Worker

The foregoing hourly pay ranges reflect an across-the-board increase of 3.2%effective
January 1,2025."
2. That except as specifically amended herein, the Subject Collective Bargaining
Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have entered into and executed this Amendment
Agreement as of the date first written above.
