RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH F.H. PASCHEN FOR
ELGIN POLICE INTERVIEW ROOMS RENOVATION JOB ORDER CONTRACT
WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract F.H. Paschen for Elgin
police interview rooms renovation job order contract; and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G. Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed
to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

CHANGE ORDER No. 1
CONTRACT: Elgin Police Interview Rooms—Job Order Contract
SCOPE: Change Order No. 1 will address the unforeseen electrical and carpentry work required to com-
plete this project.
REASONS FOR CHANGE: Demolition of the project area uncovered conditions which required addi-
tional work to be completed not contemplated in the original agreement. The necessity for the change
was unforeseen at the time the original contract was executed. The additional work is germane to the
original contract as signed. The change order is in the best interest of the City of Elgin and authorized by
law.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT:
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $116,123.00
CHANGE ORDER No. 1
Additional carpentry and electrical work $21,056.01
TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER No. 1 ADD $21,056.01
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $137,179.01
The original amount of the contract with F.H. Paschen is$116,123.00. Change Order No. 1 will increase
the original contract amount by a total of$21,056.01,that sum representing eighteen percent(18%)of the
original contract amount.The new contract amount,inclusive of all change orders is$137,179.01.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS:All other contract provisions remain the same.
