RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH UPLAND DESIGN,
LTD. FOR THE RENOVATION OF WING PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract Upland Design, Ltd.
for the renovation of Wing Park; and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto; and
WHEREAS,that pursuant to Elgin Municipal Code Section 5.02.020B(9)the City Council
hereby finds that an exception to the requirements of the procurement ordinance is necessary and
in the best interest of the city; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G.Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed
to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

Change Order
ELGIN,ILLINOIS
PROJECT: WING PARK MASTER PLAN& INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND
CHANGE ORDER No. 1
CONTRACT: Agreement with Upland Design,Ltd. For Professional Services in Connection
with the Renovation of Wing park
SCOPE: To allow for the consultant to survey additional areas in Wing Park at the Elgin Classic
Little League complex which require paving improvements to comply with ADA standards, as
well as complete design services including drafting construction drawings and a cost estimate;
and to allow for the consultant to develop two concepts and cost estimates for the renovation of
existing park restroom facilities near the proposed inclusive playground renovation site.
REASONS FOR CHANGE: After the signing of the original agreement, during the early de-
sign and planning stages of this project, additional work was identified which was not anticipated
at the time the project was originally bid. The circumstances said to necessitate this change in the
work were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed.The change is germane
to the original contract as signed. This change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin
and authorized by law
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: This will be an increase to the
original contract.
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $355,740.00
CHANGE ORDER No. l ADD $29,850.00
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $385,590.00
The original amount of the contract with Upland Design Ltd. was $355,740.00. Change Order
No. 1 totaling $29,850.00 will increase the original contract amount by a total of$29,850.00 that
sum representing 8.4%of the original contract amount. The new contract amount, inclusive of all
change orders is$385,590.00.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
