RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH LANDWORKS, LTD.
FOR MILLENNIUM PARK RENOVATIONS
(Bid No. 23-048)
WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Landworks, Ltd.
for Millennium Park renovations(Bid No. 23-048); and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G.Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed
to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

CHANGE ORDER No. I
CONTRACT: City of Elgin and Landworks lid. Contract for Millennium Park Renovations (Bid No.
23-048)
SCOPE: The change order adds $120,286 to the Millennium Park Renovations contract to allow for the
installation of an artificial turf play surface instead of the originally contracted mulch play surface. The
specifications for the artificial turf play surface are provided in Attachment A attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
REASONS FOR CHANGE:
• At the initial signing of the contract the scope of work was for a mulch play surface. This has
been changed to requiring an artificial turf play surface after initial construction meetings.
• The change is germane to the original contract as signed.
• The change order is in the best interest of the City of Elgin and authorized by law.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: The contract is being increased by
$120,286. This will allow the contractor to schedule and install an artificial turf play surface as part of
the Millennium Park renovation.
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $379,438

TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $499,724
The original amount of the contract with Landworks Ltd. is $379,438. Change Order No. 1 will increase
the original contract amount by a total of$120,286 that sum representing 31.7 percent of the original
contract amount. The new contract amount, inclusive of all change orders is$499,724.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
