HomeMy WebLinkAbout24-210 Resolution No. 24-210 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH D & J LANDSCAPE, INC. FOR THE MULBERRY GROVE PARK RENOVATION (BID NO. 23-065) WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with D&J Landscape, Inc. for the Mulberry Grove Park renovation (Bid No. 23-065); and WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G. Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. s/David J. Kaptain David J. Kaptain, Mayor Presented: September 11, 2024 Adopted: September 11, 2024 Vote: Yeas: 9 Nays: 0 Attest: s/Kimberly Dewis Kimberly Dewis, City Clerk G`1y OF Et%. ° City of Elgin Change Order ELGIN, ILLINOIS PROJECT#: Bid No.23-065 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 CONTRACT: Mulberry Grove Park Renovation- Bid No. 23-065 SCOPE: To install a catch basin for pickle ball court drainage and to saw cut the existing curb line to prepare for artificial turf installation. REASONS FOR CHANGE: The catch basin requested was not deemed necessary at the time of the initial contract. Engineering deemed it necessary after the contract was bid. The curb line cutting was not visible to estimators during the initial review as it was covered by fall zone mate- rial. The circumstances said to necessitate the change in performance were not reasonably fore- seeable at the time the contract was signed. The change is germane to the original contract as signed. The change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and authorized by law. SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: This contract is being increased by $12,127. This will allow the contractor to purchase and install the catch basin and perform the necessary curb cut. ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $666,456 CHANGE ORDER No. 1 Catch Basin installation and curb cut ADD $12,127 TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER No. 1 ADD $12,127 TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $678,583 The original amount of the contract with D&J Landscape Inc. is $666,456. Change Order No. 1 will increase the original contract amount by a total of$12,127, that sum representing 1.8% of the original contract amount. The new contract amount, inclusive of all change orders, is $678,583. OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS:All other contract provisions remain the same.
