RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A PLAT OF EASEMENT FOR WATERMAIN
PURPOSES FROM JUDSON UNIVERSITY AND ACCEPTANCE FOR OWNERSHIP AND
MAINTENANCE CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE SITE LOCATED AT
1151 N. STATE STREET
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that David J. Kaptain, Mayor, and Kimberly A. Dewis, City Clerk, be and are hereby authorized
and directed to execute and accept a Plat of Easement for watermain purposes for 1151 N. State
Street from Judson University regarding the property legally described on said plat prepared by
Gerald L. Heinz&Associates, Inc. with an issue date of January 5, 2024, last revised on February
10, 2024,a copy of which is attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause said Plat of Easement,
1151 N. State Street to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County,Illinois.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin hereby accepts for ownership and maintenance certain public
improvements within 1151 N. State Street which will include watermains. Acceptance of the
public improvements will add the following city-maintained facilities: Approximately 520 feet of
10-inch watermain along with two, 10-inch valves in 5-foot valve vaults and all their respective
appurtenances to the city maintained facilities.
