RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH LITE
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR BOWES CREEK CLUBHOUSE PATIO PROJECT
(Bid No. 21-045A)
WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Lite Construction,
Inc. for Bowes Creek Clubhouse Patio Project(Bid No. 21-045A); and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Richard G.Kozal,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed
to execute Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

CHANGE ORDER No.I
CONTRACT:Contract with Lite Construction,Inc. for Bowes Creels Clubhouse Patio Project(Bid No.
21-045A)
SCOPE: The changes to the original contract provided for in this change order include modification of
piers and materials for improved aesthetics; repairs to windowsill and recauildng of window, repair of
concrete cracks and repair of patio area,firebox costs above allowance,painting of existing pergola and
credit for pure concrete around sails above grade; bore conduit from garage to grille house; additional
landscaping;and upgrade and installation of electric heaters and paddle fan at pergola.
REASONS FOR CHANGE:
The circumstances said to necessitate the changes in performance were not reasonably foreseea-
ble at the time the contract was signed
The changes provided for in this change order are germane to the original contract as signed
• The change order is in the best interest of the City of.Elgin and authorized by law
SUMINARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT:The following items are the changes in the
contract amount:
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $237,2I3.00
CHANGE ORDER No. 1
Item 1.Credit to city for modification to piers $(246.00)
and use of materials available by landscaper.
Item 2.Repairs to windowsill and recaulking of $8,470.00
window,repair of concrete cracks and repair
of patio area,firebox cost above allowance,
painting of existing pergola and credit for
pier concrete around sails above grade:
Item 3:Bore 3-inch conduit from garage to grille $1,320.00
House.
Item 4:Additional landscaping involving removal of $1,848.00
existing Crabapple trees and Boxwoods:
Item 5:Upgrade and installation of electric heaters $5,378.00
and paddle fan at pergola:
TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1: ADD $16,770.00
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $253,983.00
The original amount of the contract with Lite Construction, Inc. is $237,213.00. Change Order No. I
totals $16,770.00, that sum representing seven percent (7%) of the original contract amount. The new
contract amount,inclusive of all change orders is$253,983.00.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS:All other contract provisions remain the same.
