Kaptain, Mayor Presented: May 27, 2020 Adopted: May 27, 2020 Vote: Yeas: 9 Nays: 0 Attest: s/Kimberly Dewis Kimberly Dewis, City Clerk City of Egin Change Order 0 ` ELGIN,ILLINOIS PROJECT: Motorola CallWorks Next Generation 9-1-1 Telecommunications System CHANGE ORDER No. 1 CONTRACT: Motorola CallWorks Next Generation 9-1-1 Telecommunications System SCOPE: Historically the Emergency Communications Center has used legacy POTS(analog copper wire based) phone circuits for administrative lines entering the Communications Center. During project implementation planning meetings, there were some noted pitfalls utilizing this type of phone interface that would prove to complicate our specific installation. This coupled with the ever increasing costs being billed by AT&T, who are obsolescing these type of phone circuits, caused a change in phone interface. We will convert the legacy circuits to digital SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) line and utilize the city's Mitel SIP phone system, and this will simplify the installation and be the most cost effective solution moving forward. There were additional equipment eliminations and additions to support environment consistency to utilize prior infrastructure investments made by the city. This necessitated the removal and addition of equipment in order to facilitate these design changes, resulting in an overall contract.price reduction. Due to the issues discovered in the implementation meetings, the circumstances leading to the need for this change order were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed. This change order is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and is authorized by law.
