RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING AN AWARD FROM THE KANE COUNTY
COURT VICTIM SERVICES FUND TO PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES TO
THE RESIDENTS OF ELGIN AND VICTIMS OF CRIME
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
that the City of Elgin, Illinois hereby accepts an award from the Kane County Court Victim
Services Fund in the amount of$12,000 to provide direct services to the residents of Elgin and
victims of crime, pursuant to the award letter of November 13, 2019, a copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Re: Kane County Victim Services Fund Award
Dear Chief Lalley,
The Elgin Police Department's Social Services Unit has been selected as a recipient of an
award in the amount of$12,000.00 from the Kane County Victim Services fund.
The Victim Services fund has been established through the collection of court ordered probation
fees in order to provide services to crime victims and their families. In demonstration of your
pursuit towards your agency mission of being dedicated to working in partnership with the
community to promote safety and enhance the quality of life by serving with professionalism,
encouraging open communication, and embracing diversity, we want to acknowledge the work
of your Social Services Unit. Your work to provide Elgin residents and victims of crime with crisis
intervention, individual and family counseling, legal and personal advocacy, community resource
referrals, and case management is invaluable. This donation from the Victim Services fund is to
support the provision of direct services to the residents of Elgin that have been victimized.
On behalf of victims of crime in Kane County, we thank you for the work that you do and your
continued dedication. Kane County is proud to have you as a community partner and Victim
Services award recipient.
