COST SHARING AGREEMENT WITH SHODEEN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, LLC
CHANGE ORDER No. 1 AND FINAL
CONTRACT: Cost sharing agreement to reimburse Shodeen Construction Company, LLC (Shodeen)
for design engineering services for Route 20 Roundabout.
SCOPE: Shodeen entered into an agreement dated March 13, 2019 with the engineering firm Trotter
and Associates (Trotter) to provide Phase 1 engineering services and grant application submittal in con-
nection with the Route 20 Roundabout Project. The City entered into an agreement with Shodeen on Ju-
ly 24, 2019 to reimburse Shodeen one-half of the cost of said Trotter agreement, not to exceed $114,241.
REASONS FOR CHANGE: Shodeen's agreement with Trotter contemplated reimbursable expenses
that were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the cost sharing agreement between the City and
Shodeen was signed. The change is germane to the original cost sharing agreement between the City and
Shodeen as signed, and the change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and authorized by
law. The reimbursable expenses are primarily recorded document fees and overnight mailing expenses.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: The contract is only being amended as to
cost.
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $114,241.00
CHANGE ORDER No. 1 AND FINAL
REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES $4,030.08
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $118,271.08
The original amount of the cost sharing agreement with Shodeen is an amount not to exceed
$114,241.00. Change Order No. 1 will increase the original contract amount by a total of $4,030.08, that
sum representing three and one-half percent (3.5%) of the original contract amount. The new contract
amount, inclusive of all change orders, is an amount not to exceed $118,271.08.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
