RESOLUTION
APPROVING FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A SWIFT WATER AND DIVE RESCUE
VEHICLE TO IMPROVE WATER RESCUE EFFICIENCIES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that
pursuant to Elgin Municipal Code Section 5.02.020B(9) the City Council hereby finds that an
exception to the requirements of the procurement ordinance is necessary and in the best interest of
the city; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that Richard G. Kozal, City Manager, and Kimberly A. Dewis, City Clerk, be and are
hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Elgin with a vendor-
recommended by the Fire Chief and approved by the City Manager for the purchase of a swift water
• and dive rescue vehicle for the fire department in an amount not to exceed$50,000,with the form of
such a contract being approved by the Corporation Counsel.
