HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-46 Resolution No. 09-46 RESOLUTION PLACING NFPA 70 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 2005 EDITION, ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is considering adopting by reference the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, 2005 edition, for regulating and governing installations of electric conductors and equipment within or on public or private buildings or other structures, including mobile homes, recreational vehicles, and floating buildings, and other premises such as yards, carnival, parking and other lots, and industrial substations in the City of Elgin; and, WHEREAS, NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, 2005 edition, has been published by the National Fire Protection Association, Quincy, Massachusetts; and, WHEREAS, Section 1-3-2 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/1-3-2) authorizes any municipality to adopt by reference the provisions of any regulations or public records provided that one copy of such regulations or public records is filed with the City Clerk for a period of thirty (30) days prior to adoption of an ordinance which incorporates such regulations or public records by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that a copy of the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code, 2005 edition, be and is hereby directed to be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection and examination for a period of thirty (30) days. s/Ed Schock Ed Schock, Mayor Presented: March 4, 2009 Adopted: March 4, 2009 Omnibus Vote: Yeas: 5 Nays: 0 Attest: • s/Diane Robertson Diane Robertson, City Clerk
