RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING A PLAT OF DEDICATION FOR A PUBLIC STREET
(South Water Road and Beckman Trail-Pulte Edgewater Subdivision)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that it
hereby accepts a certain plat of dedication for a public street prepared by Manhard Consulting Ltd.,
an Illinois Land Surveyor, and dated August 15, 2005, for the property legally described on
Exhibit A attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed
to cause said plat of dedication to be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.

SUBJECT: Plat of Dedication for South Water Road and Beckman Trail in Pulte Edgewater
Subdivision
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with
information to consider the acceptance of a plat of dedication for South Water Road and
Beckman Trail within the Pulte Edgewater Subdivision.
RECOMMENDATION
elk' It is recommended that the City Council accept the grant of dedication for South Water Road and
Beckman Trail within the Pulte Edgewater Subdivision and authorize staff to process the
necessary documents.
BACKGROUND
The preliminary plan for the Edgewater Subdivision includes the dedication of 33 feet of right of
way along the east side of the existing South Water Road. Additionally it includes the dedication
of right of way for the extension of Beckman Trail from South Water Road to Longcommon
Parkway. The subject right of way is not part of any specific platted unit of the subdivision
therefore it is being dedicated via a separate plat of dedication.
The plat of dedication is included as Exhibit A for your reference.

yjkkFINANCIAL IMPACT
There are no immediate costs to the City for accepting the dedicated right of way. The cost for
recording the document ($50) will be paid by the City and reimbursed by Pulte Homes. The
expense will be charged to the General Fund, Engineering Division budget account number 010-
3311-752.32-05, "Legal Recording Fees" where there is currently $500.00 budgeted and $404.00
available.

ALTERNATIVES
1. The Council may choose to accept the plat of dedication for South Water Road and
Beckman Trail within the Pulte Edgewater Subdivision as recommended.
2. The Council may choose not to accept the plat of dedication for South Water Road and
Beckman Trail within the Pulte Edgewater Subdivision
