RESOLUTION
APPROVING ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP RATES
FOR BOWES CREEK COUNTRY CLUB
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that it
hereby approves the annual membership rates for Bowes Creek Country Club as outlined in the
attached proposal.

Bowes Creek Membership Rates

Individual Membership includes
unlimited golf, golf car, practice facility,
CDGA handicap, account privileges and
20% awards bonus on all merchandise
in the golf shop. Once purchased,
annual membership rate is frozen

Toll Brothers Homeowner
Membership includes the same as
above and allows you the use of a
member's owned golf car for a trail fee.
Additionally, the membership is
transferable to a new homeowner for a

household resident includes unlimited
golf, golf car, practice facility, CDGA

SUBJECT: Bowes Creek Country Club Annual Membership Rates
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with
information to consider annual membership rates for Bowes Creek Country Club.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve the membership rates for Bowes Creek Country
Club.
BACKGROUND
Toll Brothers' Bowes Creek sales staff has started their residential home sales and City staff
would like to use their efforts to help sell Bowes Creek Country Club memberships. These golf
membership sales will provide early cash flow and help create a loyal customer base in advance
of the projected spring, 2009 opening.
In order to promote a high-end golf experience at Bowes Creek Country Club, and also to
differentiate it from the Highlands,the following marketing theme was created:
Bowes Creek Country Club...Enjoy a private golf club experience and
become our member for the day. The City of Elgin offers its premiere
facility with a complete country club experience for you and your guests.
The attached proposed annual membership rates are based on a combination of factors, which
include a high quality golf experience; rates charged at similar courses in the area; unlimited
golf, cart and range use; and other privileges typically reserved for a private golf facility. Also
attached is a spread sheet that outlines annual membership rates for other comparable golf
courses in the area. It should be noted that they do not typically include unlimited golf, cart and
range use. Additionally, memberships purchased in 2007 would be provided the opportunity to
purchase 2008 and 2009 memberships at the 2007 rate.
