HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-73 Resolution No. 05-73 RESOLUTION RETAINING CONSULTANTS TO ADVISE THE CITY OF ELGIN WITH RESPECT TO THE WASTE MANAGEMENT OF ILLINOIS APPLICATION REQUESTING SITING APPROVAL FOR A SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION AT THE APPROXIMATE 15 ACRE PARCEL LOCATED SOUTH AND EAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF GIFFORD ROAD AND BLUFF CITY BOULEVARD, ELGIN, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, Section 9.33.050 of the City of Elgin Pollution Control Facility Siting Ordinance provides that the Mayor with the consent of the City Council may retain consultants to advise the City with respect to an application requesting siting approval for a solid waste transfer station,evidence deduced at the public hearing,and comments received by the City with the costs of such consultants to be paid directly by the applicant; and WHEREAS, Waste Management of Illinois,Inc.,has filed an application requesting siting approval for a solid waste transfer station at the approximate 15 acre parcel located south and east of the intersection of Gifford Road and Bluff City Boulevard,Elgin,Illinois(the"Subject Application for a Solid Waste Transfer Station"). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,that pursuant to Code Section 9.33.050 of the Elgin Municipal Code, 1976,as amended, the Mayor with the consent of the City Council hereby retains the consultants Deigan& Associates, LLC and Weaver Boos Consultants as the City's consultants with respect to Subject Application for a Solid Waste Transfer Station with the costs of such consultants to be paid directly by the applicant, Waste Management of Illinois, Inc. s/Ed Schock Ed Schock,Mayor Presented: March 9, 2005 Adopted: March 9, 2005 Vote: Yeas: 6 Nays: 0 Attest: s/ Dolonna Mecum Dolonna Mecum, City Clerk
