Customer to have property lines and easements surveyed and staked in ComEd work locations, 2. ComEd to modify or install ComEd overhead primary distribution facilities (located in ROW or easement) as indicated on the attached sketch. 3. Customer to locate and stake all existing NON-JIM.L.I.E. underground facilities in propased pole route on customer's property. Moller, Director Economic Development &Business Services SUBJECT: Removal of Electrical Poles at 464 McBride Street PURPOSE The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with information to consider entering into an agreement with ComEd for the removal of twelve (12) utility poles at 464 McBride Street. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to enter into an agreement with ComEd for the removal of utility poles at 464 McBride Street in the amount of$19,352.16. BACKGROUND Building demolition and environmental remediation is currently underway at 464 McBride Street. Twelve (12) electrical utility poles are on site and must be removed in order to complete the demolition and remediation process. ComEd requires that their employees disconnect the wiring and remove the poles. COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED None FINANCIAL IMPACT /l1LN The cost of the contract amendment with ComEd will total $19,352.16. Overall this project has a budget of$4.85 million. Funding sources include a grant totaling$4.85 million that is intended to be used to purchase, remediate and redevelop this site. To date $4,197,900 has been expended and/or encumbered for this project. There are sufficient funds available (approximately $652,100) in the Riverboat Fund, account number 275-0000-791.92-35, "Riverfront/Center City Improvements," project number 039565 (Elgin Salvage Redevelopment) for the removal of Removal of Electrical Poles at 464 McBride Street June 17, 2005 Page 2 electrical poles at 464 McBride Street. VKI GALIMPACT ne. ALTERNATIVES 1. Award the contract to ComEd. 2. Choose not to enter into an agreement with ComEd and keep the utility poles on the site.
