HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-235 Resolution No. 03-235 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A PLAT OF DEDICATION FOR A PUBLIC STREET (Lambert Lane) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that it hereby accepts a certain plat of dedication for a public street prepared by Alan V. Hayes and Harris Bank Barrington, NA, as Applicants and Owners. BACKGROUND rik An application has been filed by Edward R. Hayes and Harris Bank Barrington, requesting the acceptance of a plat of dedication of a public street. The subject property is located near 1801 Villa Street (US Route 20). The subject property was annexed and zoned Ml Limited Manufacturing District in 1962. The subject property will eventually serve as public right of way and will contain a public road.The road will allow access from the new Castle Creek residential subdivision to the new signalized intersection at US Route 20.The Castle Creek(formerly known as Bella Rosa)Preliminary Plat was approved in 2002, as petition 66-01. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, UNRESOLVED ISSUES AND ALTERNATIVES The Community Development Group has developed or identified the following findings,unresolved issues, and alternatives: A. Summary of Findings. The proposed plat of dedication of a public street is required if the Castle Creek subdivision is to gain access to Route 20. B. Summary of Unresolved Issues. Other than an approval,a denial,or an approval with some combination of conditions,there are no substantive alternatives. RECOMMENDATION The City staff recommends the approval of the plat of dedication of a public street. 1. Revisions to the proposed plat of dedication of a public street per the Community Development Group and the Engineering Division. 2. Compliance with all applicable codes and ordinances.
