RELOCATE OVERHEAD ELECTRIC FACILITIES TO UNDERGROUND AT KIMBALL ST AND GROVE AV. $ 19,218.00 Base Tax $ 0.00 Regulatory Tax $ 0.00 Municipal Tax $ 0.00 Total Customer Charge $ 19,218.00 The Customer agrees to pay to the Company the sum of $ 19,218.00, payment in full due prior to beginning of Company work. The sketch, if any, attached hereto is hereby made a part of this Agreement and expressly designates ownership of the facilities referred to. This charge reflects only the work performed by the Company. There may be additional costs required by other utility or communication companies. They should be contacted for their associated charges. For Ameritech, call 1-800-244-4444. Work will be done during the Company's regular working hours, unless otherwise specified. This Agreement shall be void if not accepted by the Customer within ninety days from date submitted. Transformers and metering equipment installed in conjunction with this work, shall in all cases, remain the property of the Company. In the event the work covered by this Agreement cannot be completed within one year from the above date as a result of delays on the part of the Customer or because the Company has been denied access to the premises, the charge to the Customer shall be recomputed based on the level of costs prevailing at the time of completion of the work as stipulated in the Company's General Company Order No. 25. This agreement is subject to the provisions of the Company's Schedule of Rates and Information and Requirements for Electric Services as on file with the Illinois Commerce Commission. BACKGROUND As part of the Grove Avenue/Symphony Way/Douglas Avenue Streetscape Project, the remaining overhead electric facilities along this corridor will be placed underground. The subject agreement will provide for this work to be completed by Commonwealth Edison. The cost to underground the facilities is $19, 218 . 00 . A copy of the agreement is attached as Exhibit A. COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED None . FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds were budgeted in account number 275-0000-791 . 92-35 , project number 039529 in the amount of $2 , 600, 000 to fund the Grove Avenue/Symphony Way/Douglas Avenue Streetscape Project . A component of this project is the undergrounding of the existing overhead electric facilities . ComEd-Grove Ave/Symphony Way August 21 , 2002 Page 2 Encumbrances to date total $2 , 208, 307 . 80 . The cost to underground the electric facilities is $19, 218 . 00 . Sufficient funds are available to complete this work. LEGAL IMPACT None . ALTERNATIVES 1 . Approve the Customer Work Agreement with Commonwealth Edison. 2 . Do not approve the agreement with Commonwealth Edison. The electric services facilities would then remain above ground. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the Customer Work Agreement with Commonwealth Edison and authorize staff to execute the agreement .
