RESOLUTION
APPOINTING MEMBER TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin has previously
adopted Ordinance No. T18-00 creating the City of Elgin
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Section 2 of Ordinance No. T18-00 provides in part
that each member shall serve for an indefinite term and that the
City Council may at any time appoint successor members to the
committee to replace then current members or to fill vacancies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously appointed Denise
Harding Hopkins as a member of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory
Committee; and
WHEREAS, due to a medical condition Denise Harding Hopkins is
currently unable to perform her duties as a member of the
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that it is necessary to
replace Denise Harding Hopkins as a member of the Comprehensive Plan
Advisory Committee as a result of Ms . Harding Hopkins current
inability to perform her duties as a member of the committee .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that David L. Segel is hereby appointed as a
member of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee to replace
member Denise Harding Hopkins .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that David L. Segel shall serve for an
indefinite term and until the City Council at any time appoints a
successor member to the committee or determines that Denise Harding
Hopkins is able to resume her position on the Comprehensive Plan
Advisory Committee and by further resolution reappoints Ms . Harding
Hopkins to the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee.
