RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING FOR MAINTENANCE THE SANITARY SEWER AND
WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS IN WOODLAND MEADOWS SUBDIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that the City of Elgin hereby accepts for maintenance the
sanitary sewer and water main improvements in Woodland Meadows
Subdivision.

SUBJECT: Acceptance of Public Improvements in Woodland
Meadows Subdivision
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members
of the City Council with information to consider the acceptance of
all public improvements in the Woodland Meadows Subdivision.
BACKGROUND
Woodland Meadows Subdivision is a planned unit development, located
on the north side of Bode Road approximately 950 feet east of
Brittany Trail . It is a cul-de-sac street named Deer Run Lane.
The development consists of 30 units in 6 buildings and a single
family residence home.
All public and quasi public improvements have been completed and
inspected by City personnel . According to City' s procedures, MFB
Development/Charles Miller Realty, as developer, is requesting that
the City of Elgin accept the sanitary sewer and water main for City
ownership and maintenance. Acceptance of these utilities will add
approximately 960 lineal feet of 12" water main, 574 lineal feet of
8" water main, 960 lineal feet of 12" sanitary sewer and 570 lineal
feet of 8" sanitary sewer to the City maintained facilities. The
homeowners association will own and maintain storm water
facilities, streets and lighting.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There are no direct immediate costs associated with this
acceptance . However, maintenance and operating costs for the
sanitary sewer and water main will increase over time and will be
included as part of the annual budgeting process .

ALTERNATIVES
1 . Accept the water main and sanitary sewer for ownership and
maintenance .
2 . Do not accept the water main and sanitary sewer for ownership
and maintenance disregarding the previous agreement with the
developer.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council accept water main and
sanitary sewer improvements for the Woodland Meadows Subdivision
and direct staff to prepare the necessary resolution.
