RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A PLAT OF EASEMENT FOR WATERMAIN
AND DRAINAGE PURPOSES FROM ROGERS BUSINESS PARK ELGIN LTD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS, that Ed Schock, Mayor, and Dolonna Mecum, City Clerk, be
and are hereby authorized and directed to accept a plat of easement
for watermain and drainage purposes from Rogers Business Park Elgin
Ltd. for the property located in the Northwest Corporate Park and
legally described on Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to cause the plat of easement to be
recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County,
Illinois .

SUBJECT: Plat of Easement for Water Main
at Rogers Business Parke
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members
of the City Council with information to consider the acceptance of
a plat of easement for constructing, operating, altering, replacing
and maintenance of a water main.
BACKGROUND
Arthur J. Rogers & Co. , developer of the Rogers Business Parke
located in Northwest Corporate Park (Unit 3 , Parcel 9) , must
install a water main along the south and west property line and
through the middle of the parcel in order to provide water supply
needed for outside fire protection of the buildings within the
site . A 20-foot easement for the proposed water main is required
by the City to access the system when necessary. Attached, as
exhibit A, is a location map for your information.

0 There will be no costs to the City associated with the acceptance
of this easement . Upon acceptance by the City Council , staff will
have the agreement recorded and seek reimbursement from the
developer.

ALTERNATIVES
1 . Accept the plat of easement as presented.
2 . Accept the plat of easement with modifications .
3 . Don' t accept the plat of easement and lose access to the water
main and appurtenances .
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the acceptance and
recording of the plat of easement .
