RESOLUTION
IN SUPPORT OF THE ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT 509 REFERENDUM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin believes that
a quality educational system is important to our city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the efforts being made by
Elgin Community College District 509 to provide quality education
to our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for additional
funds to build, equip, alter or repair buildings, to purchase or
improve sites and to install technology at Elgin Community College.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the City Council of the City of Elgin does
hereby declare its support for the Elgin Community College District
509 proposition to issue $41 , 000, 000 community college bonds on the
April 3 , 2001 referendum ballot .
