HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-87 Resolution No. 00-87 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2000-2004 CONSOLIDATED PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has drafted a 2000-2004 Consolidated Plan that presents a strategic vision for meeting housing, homeless, community and economic development needs; and WHEREAS, the City of Elgin staff and Rudd and Associates, consultant, have assessed housing, homeless needs and the local housing market; and WHEREAS, strategic goals for the community were formulated based upon these assessments and on priority issues identified by residents, the business community, city officials and neighboring municipalities; and WHEREAS, the U. S . Department of Housing and Urban Development requires the City of Elgin to submit a Consolidated Plan every five years in order to receive its annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding; and WHEREAS, the proposed 2000-2004 Consolidated Plan has been placed on file for public review with the City of Elgin' s Department of Planning and Neighborhood Services and at the Gail Borden Public Library. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, that the 2000-2004 Consolidated Plan is hereby adopted as a policy document of the City to guide CDBG funding allocations during the next five program years . s/ Ed Schock Ed Schock, Mayor Presented: April 12 , 2000 Adopted: April 12 , 2000 Omnibus Vote: Yeas 6 Nays 0 Attest : s/ Dolonna Mecum Dolonna Mecum, City Clerk
