WHEREAS , those certain portions of Leslie Street and Sharon Drive , public streets in the City of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois , hereinafter described , have never been improved , maintained or used for street or highway purposes , and WHEREAS , the public interest will be subserved by the vaca- tion of the following described public alley , to-wit : All that part of Leslie Street as platted in Fox Ridge Subdivision lying Easterly of the Westerly line of Lot 18 in said Fox Ridge Subdivision ex- tended Northerly to the Northerly line of said Leslie Street . ALSO all that part of Sharon Drive as platted in Fox Ridge Subdivision lying South of the South line of a strip of land conveyed to Northern Illinois Gas Company ; said Fox Ridge Subdivision being a part of Section 2 , Township 41 North , Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian in the City of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois . NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS : Section 1 . That the following described public streets , as platted in the City of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois , to-wit : All that part of Leslie Street as platted in Fox Ridge Subdivision lying Easterly of the Westerly line of Lot 18 in said Fox Ridge Subdivision ex- tended Northerly to the Northerly line of said Leslie Street . ALSO all that part of Sharon Drive as platted in Fox Ridge Subdivision lying South of the South line of a strip of land conveyed to Northern Illinois Gas Company ; said Fox Ridge Subdivision being a part of Section 2 , Township 41 North , Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian in the City of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois . be , and the same hereby are , vacated for street and highway purposes . Section 2 . That the City of Elgin does hereby reserve to itself , and to any and all public utility companies , owning any public service facility in any part of said street vacated by this Ordinance , full right of ingress in , on and from said street , and an easement to go upon all or any part of said street vacated by this Ordinance for the purpose of continuing , maintaining , reconstructing or extending any such public service facilties , which might be located thereon .
